23 million Americans watched Stormy Daniels detail creepy Trump affair
Trump is trying to ignore the growing scandal about his affair with Stormy Daniels, but the rest of the country is paying plenty of attention.

Porn star Stormy Daniels finally gave a first-person account of her affair with Trump on “60 Minutes,” and the interview drew a bigger audience than the show has had in a decade.
After weeks of anticipation, “60 Minutes” broadcast Anderson Cooper’s interview with Daniels, and while Trump likely faces greater legal jeopardy from the cover-up, several extremely disturbing details of the affair will stick with viewers.
“He was like, ‘Wow, you — you are special. You remind me of my daughter,'” Daniels said Trump told her after he had allowed her to spank him with a magazine. “You know — he was like, ‘You’re smart and beautiful, and a woman to be reckoned with, and I like you. I like you.'”
Trump has a long public record of creepy and sexualized remarks about his daughter Ivanka. Daniels’ story is also consistent with the story of former Playboy model Karen McDougal, who recently talked about her alleged affair with Trump. She said Trump compared her to Ivanka as well.
Daniels also told Cooper chilling details of a threat that was made against her in front of her daughter.
“I was in a parking lot, going to a fitness class with my infant daughter,” Daniels said. “And a guy walked up on me and said to me, ‘Leave Trump alone. Forget the story.’ And then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, ‘That’s a beautiful little girl. It’d be a shame if something happened to her mom.'”
Daniels’ lawyer later said he believed the threat emanated from Trump or his organization.
Most of the revelations from the “60 Minutes” interview were already known to some degree, but perhaps not by so many people. The episode drew more than 23 million viewers, according to preliminary ratings from Nielsen. That’s a larger audience than any of Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice” finales drew.
While Trump often likes to brag about how he drives ratings on TV, he’s unlikely to mention this episode. He has thus far refrained from publicly commenting on Daniels’ allegations. But tens of millions of Americans now know plenty of details.
Trump’s support among white evangelical voters may be Stormy-proof, but this many average Americans getting a peek into Trump’s nauseating extramarital boudoir is bad news for Trump, and worse news for Republicans.
