The tax scam being pushed by Trump and the Republicans is nothing but bad news for anyone who isn’t a millionaire or billionaire or a giant corporation.

It’s a massive giveaway to the wealthy at the literal expense of the vast majority of Americans.

The GOP has done its best to convince you otherwise, but Senate Democrats are making sure that everyone knows what could come to pass if this terrible bill becomes law.

With the tax scam, “they’re going after our health care again”

As if the GOP’s tax scam weren’t bad enough already, they’re also using it as a sneaky way to try to attack Obamacare, since their previous attempts failed miserably.

Republicans shoehorned into the bill a provision that would repeal the ACA’s individual mandate, which could wreak serious havoc on the health care system. Many healthy people would choose to forgo insurance, which would cause insurers to raise premiums, thus forcing out sick people who need and want coverage but could no longer afford it.

Estimates show this could cause 15 million people to lose their coverage, in what could only be called a “death spiral.”

This is a callous move by the GOP, and one more huge reason to stand firm in opposition to the tax scam.

Laura Packard, who has stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, was an outspoken opponent of the GOP’s Obamacare repeal efforts — which led Trump to actually block her on Twitter. But he cannot silence her, and she has a message for everyone about the paramount importance of defeating this dangerous tax scam:

ACTION ALERT: College students, join the #GradTaxWalkout!

The GOP’s tax scam is like an evil, poisonous onion — layers upon layers of awful things that are really bad for the nation.

One of these layers is a 300 to 400 percent tax hike on graduate students. As Amanda Coston, a Ph.D. student at Carnegie Mellon, told Wired magazine, seeing what her taxes could increase to under the GOP’s bill was “just such a shock.”

“This suddenly makes a lot of things like rent, car payments, groceries, all that stuff, no longer affordable,” she said.

But students are fighting back, and if you’re on a college campus, you can join them:

The holiday season is upon us, so why not go out for a little tax scam caroling resistance at the offices of the scrooges pushing this dangerous bill?

Starting Wednesday, Nov. 29, MoveOn members across the nation will head to their lawmakers’ offices to hold them accountable and demand that they put the interests of their average constituents above those of their super-rich cronies and donors.

If there isn’t already an event in your area, you can organize one yourself. ‘Tis the season to remind Congress who they work for, since many of them seem to have a hard time remembering.

On the DREAM Act, “This is not the end, and we need to keep fighting.”

Trump and the Republicans have been taking cruel aim at undocumented immigrants for months, particularly on the young folks who have been protected from deportation by the Obama administration’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

These people have often known no other home but the United States, and only want to be able to live and work in peace, in a country where they need not be afraid of stepping out their front door.

They are Americans in every way that matters, and their stories deserve to be heard and respected.
