Humiliated by Putin, Trump lashes out at 'haters and fools' in US intelligence community

In a series of tweets, Trump said he and Putin had “good discussions on Syria,” and then defended his shameful comments earlier in the day, when he stood up for Putin and denigrated the entire U.S. intelligence community.

Parroting pro-Kremlin propaganda, Trump suggested that we should ignore Russia’s attempt to undermine our democracy and instead should pursue a good relationship with the government that wants America to fail.

“When will all the haters and fools out there realize that having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing,” Trump tweeted. “There [sic] always playing politics – bad for our country. I want to solve North Korea, Syria, Ukraine, terrorism, and Russia can greatly help!”

He followed up with a trifecta of deflection, lashing out at the “Fake News Media,” “Crooked Hillary Clinton” and President Obama.

“Does the Fake News Media remember when Crooked Hillary Clinton, as Secretary of State, was begging Russia to be our friend with the misspelled reset button? Obama tried also, but he had zero chemistry with Putin,” Trump tweeted.

Of course, what Trump failed to mention is that the reason President Obama had “bad chemistry” with Putin is because Obama actually had a backbone and stood up to Putin instead of reciting pro-Russia talking points like a lapdog.

Moreover, President Obama imposed sanctions on Russia in response to their interference in the 2016 election — sanctions that Trump has refused to enforce.

Hillary Clinton, for her part, has long been a thorn in Putin’s side because she publicly slammed his corrupt leadership.

And then there’s Trump.

Earlier today, Trump publicly defended Putin’s word and said he believed Putin over the leaders of the U.S. intelligence community, who he referred to as  “political hacks.”

He made the comments after a meeting with Putin, when the two reportedly discussed Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election. A short time later, Putin humiliated Trump when he denied ever having the conversation that Trump had just defended.

But instead of getting mad at Putin for humiliating him, Trump responded tonight by peddling Russian propaganda and lashing out at the “haters and fools” in the U.S. intelligence community.

Putin couldn’t have asked for a better puppet.
