Ivanka sends "thoughts and prayers" to London, while her dad is busy attacking Democrats
Donald Trump is always eager to denounce acts of terrorism — so long as he can claim “I told you so!” about his anti-Muslim policies. When the perpetrator of violence is white, racist, or even a Trump fan, his silence is deafening.
And Trump’s silence in the wake of the tragic attack in London near the Finsbury Park Mosque, in which one person died — though it is not clear whether that death was caused by the attack — and at least 10 more were injured, when a terrorist rammed his truck into a crowd, is frankly ear-splitting. According to witnesses, the suspect shouted, “I want to kill Muslims.”
Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, offered her thoughts and prayers on Monday morning:

The president, however, had other priorities. He has not, to date, commented on the London attack.
He did promote an appearance by his lawyer on Fox & Friends, though the tweet was soon after deleted, presumably because someone in the White House recognized the impropriety of the tweet.

But Trump wasn’t finished:

Only days ago, White House deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders proclaimed during a press gaggle that Trump was setting a new tone for American discourse. Within hours, Trump once again made a fool of his own spokesperson by rage-tweeting that he was the victim of “the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history – led by some very bad and conflicted people!”
It is not breaking news that Trump has no interest whatsoever in terrorist attacks that do not help him further his hateful rhetoric against Muslims and people of color. But it also isn’t very presidential.
