Panicked Trump denies reality, claims "no crime" after two convictions of campaign staffers

In fact, two top figures in his presidential campaign have been convicted of crimes, while others have been indicted.

Speaking at a unified event, cementing the bonds among GOP leaders like Trump, Speaker Paul Ryan, and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Trump responded in typical fashion to a reporter’s questions about the ongoing investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller.

“There’s been no collusion. There’s been no crime,” he said, adding, “And in theory everybody tells me I’m not under investigation. Maybe Hillary is, I don’t know, but I’m not. ”

REPORTER: Mister President, if Robert Mueller asks you to come and speak with his committee personally, are you committed still to doing that?

TRUMP: Yeah. Just so you understand, just so you understand: There’s been no collusion. There’s been no crime. And in theory everybody tells me I’m not under investigation. Maybe Hillary is, I don’t know, but I’m not.

The Mueller investigation indeed involves Trump. It involves Trump, his top campaign officials, as well as members of his family like Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump, and his son-in-law Jared Kushner.

For him to assert otherwise continues his outright denial of reality, as does his claim that there has been “no crime” connected to him. These stunningly ignorant statements only add fuel to the fire regarding his stability — a fire he already stoked Saturday morning with yet another unhinged Twitter rant.

Michael Flynn, his former National Security Adviser and a campaign official for him as well, has pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI.

George Papadopoulos, a campaign aide who advised the campaign on foreign policy, has also pleaded guilty to a similar charge.

Paul Manafort, his campaign chairman, has been indicted on a slew of charges including conspiracy against the United States and conspiracy to launder money.

Rick Gates, also part of the Trump campaign, was also indicted and faces charges similar to Manafort.

There are crimes associated with Donald Trump, his administration, and his campaign for president. For him to say otherwise, months after being under investigation, was a truly delusional spectacle witnessed by millions.
