Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro announced that after 30 years, the state budget would no longer fund the anti-abortion Real Alternatives organization.

The four bills already have received support from anti-abortion groups, including one associated with an anti-LGBTQ hate group.

‘There are plenty of nonbinary [people] and trans men who are also having abortions and who need access and should be included in the conversation,’ Cazembe Murphy Jackson said.

Bill sponsor Sen. Jim Risch of Idaho specified that the grants would not be available to any organizations that ‘perform, assist, counsel, prescribe, refer to an abortion provider, or encourage abortion.’

Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron called the Pregnancy Help Center, which seeks to convince pregnant people not to get abortions, ‘an amazing resource.’

Life.gov would include information about anti-abortion ‘crisis pregnancy centers,’ but not about Planned Parenthood.

Ron Johnson is among the Republican senators co-sponsoring Sen. Mike Lee’s resolution to declare the week of the November election ‘National Pregnancy Center Week.’

Wisconsin Republican Kevin Nicholson founded and ran a conservative nonprofit advocacy group with an anti-abortion agenda.
