Over the past four-plus months a lot has surfaced about what Trump did and said on Jan. 6 — in texts, tweets, videos, calls and other conversations.

As the House investigation of the attack on the U.S. Capitol continues, here’s what experts on extremism want to know.

Jan. 6 rioters brawled with police, smashed windows to break into the Capitol, and threatened to ‘hang Mike Pence’ as they sought to prevent the certification of the 2020 presidential election.

During the Jan. 6 riot, restaurant owner Pauline Bauer was heard shouting at police to ‘bring Nancy Pelosi out’ to be hanged, according to the FBI.

Security camera video emerged showing state Rep. Mike Nearman opening a door to the Oregon Capitol, allowing protesters to enter.

Some who were charged claim the police stood by and welcomed them, even though the mob pushed past police barriers, sprayed chemical irritants, and smashed windows as chaos enveloped the government complex.  

The Capitol insurrection both further normalized the idea of violent government overthrow and allowed extremist groups to network with a broader population.

The Missouri senator is facing heat for encouraging the riot in the Capitol on Jan. 6.
