Congress sought to curtail Trump’s powers after he launched a military strike against an Iranian general without seeking its approval.

The Senate went on the record against the Trump administration waging unauthorized war with Iran.

Back in 2013, Republicans demanded then-President Obama get approval to launch strikes in Syria. Now, they are mad that House Democrats want Trump to do the same.

Rep. Gaetz, who once said his sole purpose in Congress is to protect Trump, supported a resolution calling for Trump’s war powers to be curbed.

The vote comes as lawmakers from both parties criticize the administration’s justification for the strike that killed Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani.
