The first transgender legislator elected in the state's history was barred from the House floor, and she'll now have to be reelected before she can return in 2025.

Montana Republicans banned Zephyr, a trans woman and freshman state legislator, from being in the House chamber after she spoke up against anti-trans legislation.

'The attack in Montana on Rep. Zephyr is an attack on all of us,' said Nebraska state Sen. Megan Hunt.

Montana Rep. Zooey Zephyr was not allowed to speak at all during sessions this week in the state's House of Representatives, including on anti-trans bills that the Republican majority is seeking to pass.
