Trump desperately claims 'many' lawyers want to represent him in Russia case
He’s even lying to himself now.

Trump woke up cranky Sunday morning, at least in part because the world can plainly see his legal team falling apart before their very eyes.
After being chased around Florida by children on Saturday, Trump spent the wee hours of Sunday morning trying to lie his way around own failures. In a series of bitter tweets, Trump raged about funding for the border wall that Mexico was supposed to pay for, while also insisting that the $1.6 billion he got was still a victory.
But it wouldn’t be Sunday morning without a rant about the Russia investigation as well. Trump claimed that “Many lawyers and top law firms want to represent me in the Russia case,” and told his followers “don’t believe the Fake News narrative that it is hard to find a lawyer who wants to take this on.”
“Fame & fortune will NEVER be turned down by a lawyer, though some are conflicted,” Trump continued. “Problem is that a new lawyer or law firm will take months to get up to speed (if for no other reason than they can bill more), which is unfair to our great country – and I am very happy with my existing team. Besides, there was NO COLLUSION with Russia, except by Crooked Hillary and the Dems!”
Trump’s rant follows the news that his lead attorney is resigning, that his White House counsel wants to resign, and that two other top lawyers have declined to represent him. But Trump was able to secure the services of a lawyer who peddles conspiracies to Fox News, greatly expanding the definition of “top lawyers.”
MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle helpfully offered Trump an opportunity to elaborate.
Dear @realDonaldTrump – to ensure accurate reporting, will you please share the names of these top lawyers/law firms wishing to represent you? Wachtell? Cravath? Gibson Dunn? Kirkland Ellis? Latham? Happy to make any correction needed. https://t.co/XIw7QEGGuK

Trump is right about one, thing, though, and that is that many “top law firms” probably do feel that representing Trump would raise conflicts — with Trump. His lead attorney resigned because Trump consistently failed to follow legal advice, and Trump still insists he will sit for an interview with Robert Mueller, at which lawyers are concerned he will either perjure or incriminate himself.
One thing is certain, though. No matter who ends up representing Trump in court, they will have a fool for a client.
