Even Fox News is calling out Trump's ridiculous North Korea praise

Trump took to Twitter in the middle of the night to once again praise North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un,  and “Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade couldn’t help but point out some uncomfortable facts about Trump’s diplomatic failure.

On Thursday morning, Kilmeade quoted from a tweet in which Trump wrote, “Thank you to Chairman Kim Jong Un for keeping your word & starting the process of sending home the remains of our great and beloved missing fallen! I am not at all surprised that you took this kind action. Also, thank you for your nice letter – l look forward to seeing you soon!”

Kilmeade responded to the tweet by saying “one thing [Kim Jong Un] has not done is lived up to what promise we thought he made in Singapore about dismantling his nuclear program, especially the rapid construction of [intermediate range] missiles.”

Kilmeade also noted, “We’re still missing at least 7,000 [sets of remains],” adding that Kim could let Americans “walk the country with exploration teams in order to go back to the sites from 65 years ago.”

“They would let us in the South, they’re not going to let us do it, as of now, in the North,” Kilmeade said.

Trump has been lying about the Korean War remains since his disastrous Singapore summit, telling crowds that North Korea had already returned them. And as Kilmeade pointed out, there are believed to be over 7,000 Korean War personnel still unaccounted for.

But the 55 sets of unverified and unidentified remains that were returned this week represent barely a quarter of the remains that North Korea is believed to possess. What Trump describes as a “kind action” is actually much less than the bare minimum.

Since the summit, North Korea has also demonstrably failed to “de-nuke,” instead ramping up production of nuclear fuel, and the building of missiles that can reach the United States.

Meanwhile, Kim has gained the legitimacy of being an equal to Trump on the world stage, has secured an end to joint military exercises between the United States and South Korea, and enjoys an endless parade of propaganda victories, as Trump showers him with unwarranted praise.

Trump may be so desperate for a diplomatic win that he’ll praise Kim Jong Un no matter what, but the reality of Trump’s failure is so great, it’s even making a dent over at Trump TV.
