GOP insider insists Trump and Pence lie about Russia "100 percent of the time"
Donald Trump’s not only in denial about the burgeoning Russia scandal, as he continues to dismiss it as a hoax. But his pattern of constant lying, and Mike Pence’s fabrications too, will soon emerge as the basis for a historic American political scandal, says Republican strategist Steve Schmidt. “We will find everything that happened. With […]

“We will find everything that happened. With time. When we find out, I think it’s going to blow people’s minds,” Schmidt told MSNBC on Tuesday. “And I think that we’re on the edge of one of the great scandals in American history when we see what happened here.”
The Senate Intelligence Committee is working to “find out” the facts, as it interviews Trump ally Roger Stone Tuesday to press him on what role he might have played, or what inside information had had, with regards to the Russian hacking of Democratic emails during the election.
Meanwhile, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper recently suggested Russia’s interference on behalf of Trump “did cast doubt on the legitimacy of the election.”
And last Friday, the Department of Homeland Security notified 21 states that Russia attempted to hack their election systems before the 2016 election.

SCHMIDT: One hundred percent of the time, 100 percent of the people around Donald Trump have lied, and have been found out very quickly thereafter about the connections to Russia. We will find everything that happened. With time. When we find out, I think it’s going to blow people’s minds. And I think that we’re on the edge of one of the great scandals in American history when we see what happened here. Let’s let the special counsel do its work. Let’s let the facts drive the process, and we’ll see. But I know for sure, from the president, to the vice president, and on down the chain. You ask them a question about Russia, they lie about it. Not 90 percent of the time. Not 99 percent of the time. 100 percent of the time.
Despite the far-flung Russia investigations currently underway, Trump continues to peddle the idea that the whole thing is a fictitious distraction.
“And by the way, folks, just in case you’re, like, curious? No, Russia did not help me, OK?” Trump said at a political rally on Friday in Alabama. “Russia. I call it the Russian hoax.”
