If Morning Joe won't book Kellyanne Conway over credibility, which Trump figures can they book?

MSNBC’s Morning Joe is normally a more-than-friendly ally to Donald Trump, a fact which the network has not been shy about advertising. But as the Trump administration continues to descend into chaos and corruption, that relationship is showing signs of strain.

Host Joe Scarborough recently ripped Trump senior policy adviser Stephen Miller’s despotic understanding of separation of powers, and now, co-host Mika Brzezinski has declared that she will no longer allow White House counselor Kellyanne Conway to be booked on the show:

Joe was just saying that she books herself on these shows. We know for a fact she tries to book herself on this show. I won’t do it, because I don’t believe in fake news or information that is not true, and that is — every time I’ve ever seen her on television, something’s askew, off, or incorrect.

[edit]

She’s not credible anymore.

[edit]

I will say: Kellyanne Conway does not need to text our show, at least as long as I’m on it, because it’s not happening here.

Scarborough essentially agreed, based on the curious logic that Conway is not being included in Trump administration meetings, according to what he is “hearing from the White House.”

This singling out of Conway comes across as an attempt to seem independent, but what they are really doing is promoting the false idea that there are any members of this administration that are credible. Conway may, indeed, be an accomplished liar, but at least she can be maneuvered into admitting that the Trump administration is a factory of lies.

If credibility is the standard, there are no Trump administration officials who can meet it — and the closer they are to Trump, the worse those credibility problems become.

As Shareblue has detailed, Trump senior policy adviser Stephen Miller was sent out to all of the (non-CNN) Sunday shows to spew lies about voter fraud, to misinform the public about the role of the judicial branch, and to declare Trump’s power unquestionable by anyone.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer cannot even stick to his own lies for the twenty or so minutes he takes questions during briefings, and Vice President Mike Pence has shown himself to be unreliable and hedging when it comes to his own knowledge regarding disgraced former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s contacts with Russia.

Among many other things, Trump himself flatly lied when he said he did not know about the Flynn story, and when he said, in January, that there had been no contacts between his campaign and Russia.

Media outlets looking for a credible member of the Trump administration to book on their air are on a fool’s errand, because their dishonesty starts at the very top.
