Trump throws 3 am tantrum over CNN saying he's not 'presidential'

There’s a serial bomber — or bombers — on the loose in the U.S., but Trump’s priority remains lashing out at the targets of the terror attacks.

Apparently unable to sleep, Trump at 3:14 am on Friday launched a bizarre tweet about CNN, its ratings, and his deep anger about being called “not Presidential” on the cable news network — a completely accurate description that Trump confirmed by tweeting about it at 3:14 am.

“Funny how lowly rated CNN, and others, can criticize me at will, even blaming me for the current spate of Bombs and ridiculously comparing this to September 11th and the Oklahoma City bombing, yet when I criticize them they go wild and scream, ‘it’s just not Presidential!'” the angry man tapped.

It isn’t entirely clear what exactly Trump was referencing on CNN.

However, on Thursday night, there was a roundtable discussion about his inflammatory rhetoric about the people who have been targeted by bombs this week, including CNN, the Obamas, the Clintons, and Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA).

And one CNN guest — former Republican Rep. Charlie Dent of Pennsylvania — said that Trump’s behavior is indeed “not presidential.”

“When you’re the president of the United States, your words matter,” Dent said. “The president’s words do matter on policy, just as they do with when he gets into the name-calling and the insults. It’s simply not presidential. I don’t think he should do it. It demeans the office, and frankly, it doesn’t help.”

What’s also not presidential is how Trump keeps blaming the would-be victims of the bombing operation this week.

On Thursday morning, as police scrambled to deal with suspicious packages sent to Vice President Joe Biden and actor Robert De Niro, Trump tweeted that the root of the country’s “anger” was the press.

Trump’s message was clear: If the press changes the way it covers Trump, the threat of political violence will stop.

As for the 3:14 tweet, Trump’s commentary was typically incoherent and childish — argued that if presidents are criticized by members of the media, it ought to be OK for Trump to demonize them as the “enemy of the people,” and try to delegitimize the free press in America.

That’s not how democracies work.
