Trump fan arrested for threatening congresswoman Trump keeps attacking

Yet another Trump supporter has been arrested, this time for threatening to kill one of Trump’s favorite Democrats to attack.

A 55-year-old man from New York State was arrested on Friday and charged with threatening to murder Rep. Ilhan Omar, the Minnesota Democrat Trump has repeatedly attacked, the Department of Justice announced on Friday.

Patrick W. Carlineo allegedly called Omar’s congressional office and made bigoted anti-Muslim comments before threatening to murder the first Muslim-American woman elected to Congress.

“Do you work for the Muslim Brotherhood?” Carlineo said on a call to a staffer who answered the phone in Omar’s office, according to DOJ. “Why are you working for her, she’s an (expletive) terrorist. I’ll put a bullet in her (expletive) skull.”

The FBI interviewed Carlineo after he made the violent threat, and Carlineo told the agents investigating that “he loves President Trump and hates radical Muslims in government,” according to a report from the Star Gazette.

Carlineo faces up to 10 years in prison and $250,000 in fines for his alleged crimes.

Trump has repeatedly attacked Omar, charging her with being anti-Semitic and calling for her resignation after Omar made critical comments about Israel. Trump also defended vile comments from Fox News host Jeanine Pirro, who suggested Omar could not be loyal to the U.S. constitution because Omar — a Muslim woman — wears a hijab.

Of course, Omar’s criticism of Israel pales in comparison to the anti-Semitic remarks Trump has made about Jews, including over the weekend when he suggested American Jews have a “dual loyalty” to Israel.

Carlineo, for his part, is just the latest Trump supporter who has been arrested or charged with threatening or trying to attack people whom Trump has feuded with.

Just last week, a 58-year-old Trump fan pleaded guilty to making violent threats against former Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ).

Back in February, a Coast Guard lieutenant was arrested for plotting a domestic terror attack against Trump enemies.

And super Trump fan Cesar Sayoc, aka “the MAGA bomber” — who mailed more than a dozen pipe bombs to people Trump has attacked — pleaded guilty to mailing the bombs.

Carlineo’s arrest is the latest reminder that words matter.

But Trump has yet to learn that lesson.

He continued to attack Omar even after news of Carlineo’s arrest broke.

“Special thanks to Rep. Omar of Minnesota, oh, oh, oh, I forgot, she doesn’t like Israel, I forgot, I’m so sorry,” Trump said on Saturday of Omar in a mocking tone during a speech in Las Vegas before the Republican Jewish Coalition.

He never learns.
