18 times Trump has used Twitter to try to get someone sued

Following a New York Times report on Sunday that found some corroboration of sexual assault claims against Justice Brett Kavanaugh and included a new allegation, the man who nominated him is angry.

But rather than express concern about the possibility that he put a sexual predator on the Supreme Court, Trump instead took aim at the accusers, calling them “horrible people” who should be sued.

“Brett Kavanaugh should start suing people for libel, or the Justice Department should come to his rescue,” Trump tweeted Sunday morning. “The lies being told about him are unbelievable. False Accusations without recrimination. When does it stop? They are trying to influence his opinions. Can’t let that happen!”

Anyone who has followed Trump’s playbook closely should not be surprised by his latest Twitter eruption. Over the past few years, he has repeatedly used twitter to claim that anyone he disagrees with should be sued.
