Trump honors D-Day by melting down for hours in the middle of the night

Trump geared up for a solemn event by rage-tweeting at singer and actress Bette Midler.

Trump appears to be in a rip-roaring mood ahead of a solemn event to mark the 75th anniversary of D-Day, staying up into the wee hours of the morning to rage-tweet against Democrats and, believe it or not, singer and actress Bette Midler.

Trump’s meltdown began at 1:30 a.m. local time in London, and started with a tweet lobbing childish insults at Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) — who is against the reckless tariffs Trump is set to impose on Mexico that won’t punish Mexico as much as hurt American consumers.

“Can you imagine Cryin’ Chuck Schumer saying out loud, for all to hear, that I am bluffing with respect to putting Tariffs on Mexico,” Trump tweeted. “What a Creep. He would rather have our Country fail with drugs & Immigration than give Republicans a win. But he gave Mexico bad advice, no bluff!”

Then came the attack on Midler — which has to be seen to be believed.

“Washed up psycho @BetteMidlerwas forced to apologize for a statement she attributed to me that turned out to be totally fabricated by her in order to make ‘your great president’ look really bad,” Trump tweeted, bizarrely adding quotes around “your great president.”

“She got caught, just like the Fake News Media gets caught. A sick scammer!” he continued.

The fact that Trump is concerning himself with comments from an actress in the middle of the night, ahead of an event to mark D-Day, which began the liberation of Europe from Nazi control, is yet another item to add to the list of questionable Trump behavior.

Of course, it’s not the first time he’s attacked Midler. Back in 2012, he called Midler “an extremely unattractive woman” — a misogynistic comment that came as Superstorm Sandy wreaked havoc on New York City, where Trump lived.

But Trump’s tweet storm didn’t stop there.

He then tweeted insults at Joe Biden — the Democratic presidential contender who appears to occupy a big part of Trump’s head — before once again lying in an attempt to convince the world that the protests against him in the U.K., which people witnessed with their own eyes, didn’t exist and were instead filled with adoring fans.

“I kept hearing that there would be ‘massive’ rallies against me in the UK, but it was quite the opposite,” Trump tweeted. “The big crowds, which the Corrupt Media hates to show, were those that gathered in support of the USA and me. They were big & enthusiastic as opposed to the organized flops!”

Of course, the crowds were not filled with adoring fans. The Pall Mall — the wide road leading up to Buckingham Palace — was virtually empty despite preparations for crowds to watch Trump’s motorcade roll through. And there were protests filled with people carrying signs and effigies that were most certainly not flattering for Trump.

Trump continued to tweet throughout the early morning hours, hurling ridiculous attacks at the media and trying to spin his disastrous trip to the U.K. into something positive — a near impossible task given all of the blunders he made.

Trump will now mark the milestone 75th anniversary of D-Day.

Hopefully, the little sleep he appears to have gotten thanks to his unhinged tweeting doesn’t lead to yet more diplomatic disasters.
