French officials slam Trump 3 times in a week for his 'big mouth'

The outgoing French ambassador to the United States slammed Trump’s “big mouth” in the latest rebuke from an official of the French government, the third within a week.

Gerard Araud gave an interview to Foreign Policy and was asked to compare Trump’s leadership style to President Barack Obama.

Araud said Obama was “somebody who every night was going to bed with 60-page briefings and the next day they were sent back annotated by the president.”

Comparing that behavior to his successor, Araud found Trump extremely lacking.

“Suddenly you have this president who is an extrovert, really a big mouth, who reads basically nothing or nearly nothing, with the interagency process totally broken and decisions taken from the hip basically,” he explained.

Araud also noted how many positions within the Trump administration have not been filled and slammed the high turnover rate of officials.

“It’s amazing—after 55 months, a lot of people are changing overnight,” Araud explained. “Even if you have somebody in the offices, they don’t know what the president is going to say. And if the president has said something, they don’t know what he means.”

Araud’s slam follows a pair of exasperated responses to Trump from French officials after he tweeted unsolicited advice on how to fight the fire at Notre Dame.

As the international landmark burned, Trump urged that “flying water tankers could be used to put it out.”

Sécurité Civile, the French civil defense agency, slammed Trump, noting in a tweet that if they followed his advice it “could lead to the collapse of the entire structure of the cathedral.”

Lieutenant-Colonel Michael Bernier, a French fire chief, went even further in pointing out Trump’s silliness.

“Everything would have collapsed” with Trump’s plan, he explained and noted, “It was technically impossible, undoable and most of all would have been utterly useless.”

He called Trump’s advice “risible.”

Like millions of Americans, French officials are clearly exasperated with Trump and his failed leadership style.

He has made such a mess of things that the French have gone public with their criticisms, showing the entire world how Trump continues to embarrass the United States.
