Trump claims Queen Elizabeth had the time of her life putting up with him
Trump said he had a great time with Queen Elizabeth, despite images showing both leaders with scowls on their face.
Trump and Queen Elizabeth II may have had scowls on their faces in group photos during Trump’s three-day state visit to the U.K., but Trump said in a Thursday interview with neo-Nazi sympathizer Laura Ingraham that he and the queen are actually thick as thieves, and had a great time during the handful of events they attended together during his stint in Britain.
“The meeting with the queen was incredible,” Trump told Ingraham in an interview from Normandy, France — which was one of the least controversial things he said in the sit-down, in which he trashed former special counsel Robert Mueller, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and others while seated in a sacred burial site of World War II heroes who risked their lives to defeat fascism in Europe.
“I think I can say I really got to know her because I sat with her many times and we had automatic chemistry, you understand that feeling, it’s a good feeling,” Trump continued.
Photos of the two leaders don’t match up with Trump’s claim.
In one image ahead of a state dinner, Trump is seen in an ill-fitting tuxedo with a deep scowl on his face next to the queen.

The photo was in stark contrast to one taken during one of former President Barack Obama’s state visits, in which both Obama and the queen have big smiles on their faces.
Trump said, however, that he had great conversations with the queen during their visits.
“We had a period where we were talking solid, straight, I didn’t even know who the other people at the table were, never spoke to them,” Trump said. “We just had a great time together.”
Ultimately, Trump’s state visit to the U.K. was filled with controversy.
It began with Trump wading into the U.K.’s upcoming election for prime minister, in which he endorsed Boris Johnson. Johnson, however, snubbed Trump for a sit-down meeting during Trump’s trip.
Trump’s rude remark about American-born Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle also hung over his visit, after he called Markle “nasty” in an interview before touching down on British soil.
He also lashed out at London Mayor Sadiq Khan, and tried to gaslight the world by saying the throngs of people protesting his visit were actually supporters of his.
Trump’s kids also caused controversy when they crashed the state dinner with the Royal Family.
And Irish reporters called Trump out for promoting his failing golf course in their country during his visit.
