Trump sat on Brennan announcement for 20 days until Omarosa disaster

Immediately after Trump announced that he had revoked the security clearance of former CIA director John Brennan, evidence emerged that the timing of the announcement may have been a deliberate effort to blunt damaging news coverage of former Trump aide Omarosa Manigault Newman’s tell-all.

The date of a press release on Brennan from the Trump team revealed that the decision to revoke Brennan’s clearance had actually been made on July 26.

That means the administration sat on the announcement for 20 days, despite Trump’s claims that this was done “to protect the Nation’s classified information.”

But after reporters began taking note of the date on the statement, which was sent to television outlets covering the White House, the July date had been removed by the time it was sent out to print reporters.

Shareblue Media can confirm that on the release sent to print journalists, the damning date had been scrubbed.

The delayed release of the Brennan statement came right in the middle of a public fight between Trump and Manigault Newman.

Manigault Newman has alleged that Trump used a racial slur, specifically “the N-word,” on a video recording that she has seen. She has also released several secret recordings of her own that she made of her conversations with Trump and some of his officials, and has promised that she has plenty more where that came from.

In retaliation, Trump has issued multiple tweets calling her “wacky” and a “dog.” His re-election campaign has initiated legal action against Manigault Newman, alleging that her book is a violation of the non-disclosure agreement she signed.

But rather than address these disturbing and damaging stories, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders instead decided to begin her press briefing with an announcement that had been drafted and ready for 20 days.

Predictably, most of the questions in the briefing that followed were about the announcement instead of Manigault Newman’s embarrassing claims about Trump.

Trump’s team, however, once again showed their incompetence by accidentally releasing the press release with its original date. And they were caught with their pants down in attempting the sleight of hand.
