Trump says Fox News pollster 'sucks' after hyping its polls for years
Trump turns on his old favorite poll after it confirms broad support for his impeachment.
Wednesday’s Fox News poll on the impeachment impeachment inquiry confirmed what most other pollsters are finding: record support for impeaching Donald Trump.
Trump predictably dismissed the poll on Thursday as biased against him — conveniently forgetting his long history of citing the network’s favorable polls.
According to Fox News’ survey of registered voters between October 6 and 8, 51% of Americans now believe Trump should be impeached and removed from office and another 4% want to see him impeached but not removed. Just 40 percent opposed impeachment. The numbers represent a significant shift from their July 2019 poll on the same topic, prior to revelations that Trump pressured the Ukraine and other countries to investigate his political opponents.
Trump was not happy with this result. He claimed the poll has always been biased against him and that “Whoever their Pollster is, they suck.”
…Court Justice & I turned him down (he’s been terrible ever since), Shep Smith, @donnabrazile (who gave Crooked Hillary the debate questions & got fired from @CNN), & others, @FoxNews doesn’t deliver for US anymore. It is so different than it used to be. Oh well, I’m President!

Trump claimed that since he got into the race in 2015, he has “NEVER had a good @FoxNews Poll.”
A quick review of Trump’s tweet history turned up at least 11 times he cited favorable Fox News polls to assert his popularity, as recently as just a few months ago.
Just out, the new nationwide @FoxNews poll has me alone in 2nd place, closely behind Jeb Bush-but Bush will NEVER Make America Great Again!

A great honor to easily finish FIRST in the @FoxNews poll tabulation even though some of my best polls were not used in determining winner!

@FoxNews Poll: A majority of Americans want the Democrats to stop investigating President Trump. The Mueller Report said very strongly NO COLLUSION, which led to NO OBSTRUCTION. The Dems can’t get over 2016 or the conclusive Mueller findings. They are now the Do Nothing Party!

Trump has been regularly attacking Fox News in recent months for no longer devoting its coverage to constant praise of him. He he also suggested Fox News’ employment of a handful of Trump critics — in addition to his friends, advisers, and former staffers — is evidence of network bias.
In August, when a Fox News poll showed his disapproval at 56%, he told reporters, “”There’s something going on at Fox, I’ll tell you right now. And I’m not happy with it.”
Minutes after his Thursday attacks on his old favorite network, he attempted to talk up an even more pro-Trump outlet, praising the fledgling right-wing One America News Network for its “fair coverage and brilliant reporting.”
But his claim that Fox News polls have always been anti-Trump would seem inconsistent with his claim that its shift has come since the “good old days” when it helped him unexpectedly win the GOP nomination and the White House in 2016.
