Ted Cruz whines about being mocked for his space pirates warning

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is upset that people across America are mocking his warnings about space piracy.

During a hearing on Tuesday on space policy, the leading conservative argued that concerns about space-based piracy should motivate support of Trump’s “space force” proposal.

The suggestion provoked widespread mockery, largely because there is no such thing as a space pirate.

A Twitter “moment” collected many of the reactions to Cruz’s statement.

But instead of just admitting he was wrong to invoke non-existent space piracy to justify a Trump boondoggle like “space force,” Cruz chose to whine.

Cruz was even dramatic enough to send a tweet directly addressed to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.

“Hey @jack how come Twitter’s ‘moment’ quotes all the snarky leftists making fun of my comments, but doesn’t include my tweets in response explaining the real point that NATIONS like China have already developed & tested weapons to destroy satellites?”

Cruz also directed complaints at “Meet the Press,” NBC host Chuck Todd, Yahoo News, and MSNBC host Chris Hayes.

Of course, the reason Cruz is being mocked isn’t because of a vast left-wing conspiracy.

No matter how much Cruz protests or cites Chinese weapons that can destroy satellites (America has those too), it won’t make space pirates real. Because they aren’t.
