Trump cancels North Korea summit after whole world sees him get played

The “winning” still hasn’t begun.

Trump canceled the planned summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in the latest episode demonstrating his diplomatic impotence.

Republicans had been making noise about Trump receiving the Nobel Peace Prize as part of the effort to denuclearize the rogue nation. Instead, Trump is again the laughingstock amongst global leaders.

In an open letter to “Mr. Chairman,” Trump said, “based on the tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, I feel it is inappropriate, at this time, to have this long-planned meeting.”

It looks like the coins prematurely designed and minted to herald a Trump-Kim Jong Un summit will have to go unused.

Throughout the entire episode, Trump was repeatedly exposed as a diplomatic neophyte. Despite his grand claims during the campaign that he is a master dealmaker, North Korea joined the parade of nations who have run circles around him.

Former CIA Director John McLaughlin pointed out that North Korean officials have studied Trump, and like millions of others, figured out how easy it is to manipulate him through flattery. The nation ostracized from nearly all international conversation had managed “successful manipulation of the president.”

After North Korea suckered Trump, he responded by chucking America’s previously built-up credibility for prosecuting the regime, referring to the Kim Jong Un, who has starved his own people, as “honorable.”

In recent days, Trump’s quasi-official propaganda outlet, Fox News, began making overtures toward Kim Jong Un. One host on the network excused the brutal leader, claiming Kim doesn’t “love” that he “has to murder his people.”

In the middle of Trump’s thrashing about, North Korea added insult to injury and called Mike Pence “stupid.”

The entire affair has been a debacle.

It follows in the footsteps of Trump petulantly trashing the Iran nuclear deal. He and his acolytes then began prematurely celebrating a North Korea deal.

The world now watches in collective dismay as failed dealmaker Trump has managed within a few weeks to nudge Iran toward being more of a nuclear threat while getting played by North Korea.

Trump promised America endless winning, but instead the losing is off the charts.
