Trump brags he doesn’t need to prepare for North Korea summit on nukes

Trump bragged to reporters that he isn’t concerned about preparing for his upcoming summit with North Korea because “it’s about attitude” and wanting it badly enough.

Asked Thursday whether he is prepared for the meeting next week, Trump gave a disturbingly dismissive response.

“I don’t think I have to prepare very much,” he said. “It’s about attitude, it’s about willingness to get things done.” Trump added that “this isn’t a question of preparation, it’s a question of whether or not people want it to happen.”

Trump made his remarks as he sat next to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe. Japan is widely considered to be one of the nations most likely to be in the crosshairs of a nuclear North Korea.

Abe has said that North Korea is the greatest threat to Japan since WWII.

Despite his belief that he has the right attitude, the self-described great negotiator has thus far not shown any talent or skill for international diplomacy.

On the world stage, he has increasingly put America in an isolated position. He is currently involved in international feuds with key allies, including Canada and Germany.

The North Korean situation requires careful leadership and skill. Millions of lives are at stake.

And yet, Trump just told North Korea that he’s effectively going to wing it.

Unlike his failure to make deals in business, there is no way to simply file bankruptcy and walk away from a nuclear disaster.
