Trump throws a tantrum on flight home from his humiliating UK trip
Trump, who for years reveled in ‘lock her up’ chants against Hillary Clinton, is suddenly upset that Nancy Pelosi said she wants to see him in prison.
On the flight back to the U.S. after an embarrassing state visit to the U.K., Trump fired off a series of angry tweets attacking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for saying she thinks he belongs in prison.
“Nervous Nancy Pelosi is a disgrace to herself and her family for having made such a disgusting statement, especially since I was with foreign leaders overseas,” Trump tweeted from Air Force One on Friday. “There is no evidence for such a thing to have been said.”
Trump is referring to a quote Pelosi reportedly said behind closed doors about wanting to see Trump “in prison” rather than impeached.
The irony of Trump making this comment is almost too much to bear.
For years, Trump reveled in vile “lock her up” chants from his supporters, who wanted to see former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton imprisoned despite her being cleared of wrongdoing for using private email. Trump has also called for Clinton to be jailed.
Not to mention, Trump has absolutely no leg to stand on when it comes to badmouthing American officials while overseas.
On Thursday, ahead of a commemoration of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, Trump attacked special counsel Robert Mueller and Pelosi even while seated next to a graveyard that’s home to thousands of heroes who died trying to save Europe from fascism during World War II.
But Trump’s tantrum didn’t stop there.
He went on to claim that House Democrats, led by Pelosi, are not being productive in Congress because they are too focused on investigating him.
“Nervous Nancy & Dems are getting Zero work done in Congress and have no intention of doing anything other than going on a fishing expedition to see if they can find anything on me – both illegal & unprecedented in U.S. history,” Trump tweeted. “There was no Collusion – Investigate the Investigators! Go to work on Drug Price Reductions & Infrastructure!”
Of course, this tweet is also a massive lie.
House Democrats have passed numerous major pieces of legislation — including a bill that would reduce prescription drug prices. Of course, House Republicans voted against it.
Not to mention, House Democrats passed an immigration reform bill while Trump was in the U.K., meaning they are getting plenty done while also investigating Trump’s crimes and corruption.
While the Democratic-led House passes landmark legislation on public corruption, voting rights, gun control, and LGBTQ rights, among other things, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is bragging about purposefully killing those bills by not bringing them up in the Senate.

“I’m Mitch McConnell and I approve this message,” McConnell’s official Twitter account wrote in response to a New York Times story about how the McConnell-led Senate is a “legislative graveyard” for House-passed bills.
Trump’s petty rage-fest against Pelosi and House Democrats shows once again that, like most bullies, Trump can dish it but can’t take it.
