Trump throws a fit at the press for reporting on his cover-ups and crimes

What a whiny and pathetic display.

Trump called an impromptu news conference Wednesday morning in the White House Rose Garden, in which he railed against the media for effectively covering his crimes and cover-ups.

“This whole thing was a takedown attempt at the president of the United States, and honestly you ought to be ashamed of yourselves for the way you’ve reported so dishonestly,” Trump said, apparently referring to special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.

During the embarrassing display at the White House, Trump had a poster stuck onto his lectern that had some “facts” about Mueller’s investigation — and also lies about the probe’s conclusions.

Unlike what the poster said, Mueller’s report did lay out instances where Trump obstructed justice, and even concluded that Trump’s campaign was receptive to Russia’s illegal and nefarious attempts to boost Trump’s candidacy in the 2016 election.

And Trump is clearly angry that House Democrats are looking deeper into the Mueller report, along with other possible Trump crimes related to his personal finances, as he’s sought to block further congressional oversight by relying on dubious legal reasoning.

“I’m the most transparent president probably in the history of this country,” Trump said at the Rose Garden event — a total lie given his thwarting of congressional oversight and refusal to release documents, including his tax returns.

Trump’s tantrum appeared to be sparked by comments earlier in the day from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who rightfully accused Trump of engaging in a “cover-up” as he seeks to obstruct numerous congressional oversight investigations into everything from his personal finances to his administration’s security clearance policies.

Pelosi, along with other Democratic leaders, were set to meet with Trump at the White House on infrastructure, but Trump reportedly stormed out of the meeting and refused to negotiate on policy until the House stopped investigating him.

“Instead of walking in happily into a meeting, I walk into look at people that have just said that I was doing a cover-up,” Trump said in the Rose Garden. “I don’t do cover-ups.”

So, in effect, Trump threw an official infantile temper tantrum, in which he lied about his conduct and whined about legitimate congressional oversight into his crimes.

No wonder his approval rating is so low.
