"It's back to work." Trump's schedule is nothing but livetweeting Fox lies

No American president in the last century has worked less than Donald Trump. And none has worked harder trying to disguise that fact that the current part-time POTUS. Donald Trump

Bragging on Monday from his Florida golf resort that it would be “back to work” on Tuesday for him, Trump instead spent the morning livetweeting Fox News and spewing all-caps attacks on his perceived, and growing number of, enemies:

Half an hour later, Trump left Mar-a-Lago to spend another day at Trump International Golf Club. There are no public events on his official schedule.

Utterly besieged and alone as criminal investigations close in, Trump has been permanently reduced to lashing out on social media, unable to stop or slow his pursuers.

And what was Trump watching on Fox News Tuesday morning? The usual cornucopia of toxic, vengeful smear attacks, and illogical conspiracies. This, as Fox News wages an all-out war on U.S. law enforcement in a desperate and transparent attempt to try to save Trump’s presidency.

That war is intensifying in part because last week we learned the FBI’s deputy director, Andrew McCabe, testified that he can confirm Trump, weeks into his presidency, urged then-FBI Director James Comey to pledge his loyalty to the White House. And later, that Trump asked Comey to go easy on his former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, who was under FBI investigation, and has since pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI.

Consequently, this was the incoherent and resentful message Trump sent to the nation and the world on Christmas Eve:

And this:

Golfing, watching television and trying to avoid criminal indictments while his former aides plead guilty have now come to define the Trump presidency. He seems to resent the widespread public perception that he’s a lazy sloth who runs up huge bills at taxpayers expense so he can lounge around at his resorts.

“People that don’t know me, they like to say I watch television — people with fake sources. You know, fake reporters, fake sources,” Trump announced in November. “But I don’t get to watch much television. Primarily because of documents. I’m reading documents. A lot.”

Note that Trump had a 60-inch flat screen TV installed in his private White House dining room, according to Time magazine.

Like Ebenezer Scrooge, but without the celestial awakening, Trump is spending his Christmas holiday wrapped in a cocoon of despair.
