Even this pro-Trump juror thought Manafort was guilty of all 18 charges

Former Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort managed to avoid 10 of the 18 charges he was indicted for because the jury could not agree on those 10. But an admittedly pro-Trump juror says she was convinced of his guilt on all counts.

Manafort was found guilty on eight charges, while the judge declared a mistrial on the other 10. But in an interview on Wednesday night’s “Fox News at Night,” host Shannon Bream asked juror Paula Duncan how close Manafort came to being found guilty on all counts.

“By one, there was one holdout,” Duncan said, adding “we all tried to convince [the juror] to look at the paper trail, we laid it out in front of her again and again, and she still said that she had a reasonable doubt.”

Duncan said that she is “very much” a supporter of Trump, and praised Manafort as a “brilliant” political operative, asking “Why wouldn’t Trump want him to help with the campaign?”

Duncan also told Fox that she traveled to court every day with a “Make America Great Again” hat in the back seat of her car. But she was still convinced that Manafort was guilty on all 18 counts.

“The evidence was overwhelming,” she said. “I did not want Paul Manafort to be guilty, but he was, and no one is above the law.”

Following the Manafort verdict, Trump tried to take refuge in the spin that Manafort was convicted of only eight of the charges, tweeting, “A large number of counts, ten, could not even be decided in the Paul Manafort case. Witch Hunt!”

That premise was ridiculous on its face, as those eight counts will likely land Manafort in prison for the rest of his life.

With the Manafort conviction and fixer Michael Cohen’s guilty plea to carrying out federal crimes on Trump’s behalf, Trump is neck-deep in trouble, and none of Trump’s alternative facts are going to change that.
