Pelosi shreds reporter who accused her of 'hating' Trump: 'Don't mess with me'

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi took a conservative reporter to task on Thursday after he accused her of moving forward with impeachment out of hatred for Donald Trump.

“Do you hate the president,” conservative reporter James Rosen, who was ousted from Fox News over allegations of sexual harassment and now works for conservative Sinclair Broadcast Group, asked Pelosi as she was leaving a news conference.

“I don’t hate anybody. I was raised in a Catholic house, we don’t hate anybody,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi went on to say that she disagreed with Trump on a number of political areas, calling him a “coward” on gun control, “cruel” on immigration reform, and “in denial” about climate change.

“However, that’s about the election,” Pelosi said, referring to impeachment. “This is about the Constitution of the United States and his violation of the oath of office. And as a Catholic, I resent your using the word ‘hate’ in a sentence that addresses me. I don’t hate anyone.”

Pelosi went on to say that she prays for the president.

“I always prayed for the president and I still pray for the president, and I pray for the president all the time, so don’t mess with me when it  comes to words like that,” Pelosi said to Rosen, before leaving the podium.

Pelosi had just delivered her weekly news conference, where she faced questions about the next steps in the impeachment inquiry into Trump.

Earlier Thursday morning, Pelosi announced that the House is moving forward with articles of impeachment against Trump.
