Watch Trump's Fed pick laugh at his own racist 'joke'
Trump’s nominee for the Federal Reserve Board, Stephen Moore, is not only a deadbeat dad and tax cheat — he also makes racist jokes and kisses young women without permission.
Stephen Moore, whom Trump nominated to sit on the powerful Federal Reserve Board, is a crackpot Fox News economic commentator who has had a number of damaging stories emerge about him since his nomination.
He was also once caught on tape getting handsy with a young woman before cracking a racist joke to her.
In this 2011 video, Moore is speaking with a female employee of Media Matters for America at the Conservative Political Action Conference. The employee and her coworker were posing as conservative fans of Moore’s to ask him questions about recent controversies.
Just moments after the young woman introduces herself, Moore first puts his arm around her and then kisses her on the cheek without her permission.
He then asks the woman where she went to college. When she responds that she went to the University of California at Los Angeles, Moore remarks that she “must be smart” because UCLA is “a hard school to get into.”
“You’re not even Asian,” Moore adds.
Then Moore guffaws uproariously at his own “joke.”
Moore isn’t just a conservative darling who engages in casual sexism and racism. He’s also a tax cheat and a deadbeat dad.
Moore owes more than $75,000 in taxes to the IRS, and was once held in contempt of court by a judge after he failed to pay a whopping $300,000 in child support, alimony, and other divorce settlement provisions he owed to an ex-wife. He also “openly and tastelessly” cheated in that relationship, according to a 2010 divorce filing; he created not one but two dating profiles on Match.com, and reportedly left evidence of an affair in the home he shared with his now ex-wife.
On top of all of this, Moore has also openly admitted that he isn’t qualified for his new job.
In an interview with Bloomberg News last week, Moore said that he doesn’t really know how the Fed operates — which would be a pretty important thing for a Fed board chair to know.
Moore is yet another unqualified Trump nominee with questionable morals and personal conduct.
